Siouxland Garden Show Kicks Off
(SIOUX CITY, IA) Get your green thumb ready for spring at the 2011 Siouxland Garden Show. The weekend features a dozen speakers and a "how to" session every hour. Topics cover everything from organic food farming to tree pruning. More than 40 vendors will showcase products and services to make gardening accessible to any age or skill level. "As soon as you walk in here, you smell spring, you smell live plants, you smell the soil, you smell the flowers. It's a wonderful feeling to hear the water, to see fire in the fire pit, water in the fountains and ponds, it's really a great feeling," says Adrienne Jansen, Program Coordinator at the ISU Extension in Woodbury County. The garden show is Friday from 9 to 8 and Saturday from 9 to 6 at the Marina Center in South Sioux City. Tickets are $5 per person or $9 for a two day pass. Kids 12 and under are free.
